Mission

The Mardigian Library is an inclusive place for learning and research and a catalyst for innovation, discovery, and engagement for the University of Michigan-Dearborn and partner communities.


Vision

The Mardigian Library is a campus leader for information resources, innovative services, and inclusive spaces that empower our student-centered, community-engaged university.

The Mardigian Library will:

  • offer exceptional service based on the information needs of University of Michigan-Dearborn students, faculty, staff;
  • steward safe, welcoming, inclusive and accessible spaces that foster individual and collaborative learning;
  • inspire curiosity, support an evolving curriculum and represent diverse voices through collection management and creating programming;
  • partner with faculty and staff in teaching, research, collection development, and scholarly publication;
  • foster critical thinking, information literacy skills, academic success, and lifelong learning;
  • further community engagement through practice based learning, professional and community service, and the arts;
  • explore innovative approaches to library collections, scholarly communication, and information literacy in collaboration with students, faculty and staff.
